August long weekend of 2010 will see an influx of competitors to be challenged by the tenth anniversary of the North Face Canadian Death Race. The 2010 event will grow to 1500 elite racers arriving in Grande Cache, Alberta to cheat death in one of the world's toughest endurance races. The Canadian Death Race consists of 125 km over rough mountain trails, through pristine forests shared with resident wildlife, over ragged, rocky, and sometimes wet or snow-covered, seemingly endless terrain passing over three mountain summits, including 17,000 feet of elevation change and a major river crossing at the Hell’s Gate canyon at the confluence of the Smoky and Sulphur Rivers. The race winds through the breathtaking

background of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  Each year, well-trained and totally committed racers from around the globe, battle heat, cold, altitude and themselves in a 24 hour period, if completed, they have bragging rights to call themselves “Deathracers”. If you think that you have to wait until adulthood to achieve such a status, you don’t, the race will grow to see 350 children take part in the 10th Anniversary of the North Face Canadian Death Race. The festivities of the Death Race come alive in Grande Cache, Alberta.

The influx of competitors and their supporters, plus the hundreds of volunteers needed, hasspawned Deathfest, a weekend party featuring children's spawned Deathfest, a weekend party featuring children's entertainment, games, rides, and the all Canadian Rock Music weekend concerts. 2010 will see the celebration of the fourth annual Deathfest Celebrations. The Town totally explodes with excitement as the sounds echo off the mountain peaks and blasts your soul!  Grande Cache Alberta is the place to be this summer!
